Julphar lights up in blue to celebrate World Diabetes Day
Julphar Diabetes, the diabetes division of Ras Al Khaimah (RAK) based pharmaceutical company Julphar, organised a number of internal and external events across the region to mark the 21st World Diabetes Day (WDD) on November 14.
World Diabetes Day saw Julphar’s facility in RAK washed in a blue glow, blue being the global colour of WDD, reflecting the sky that unites all nations and signifies the unity of the global diabetes community in response to the diabetes epidemic worldwide.
Commenting on Julphar Diabetes’ World Diabetes Day activities, Joe Saldanha, GM of Julphar Diabetes, said: 'World Diabetes Day is such an important event in the international medical calendar and plays a key role in highlighting the global rise of this disease and more importantly how to prevent it. Diabetes is a global epidemic affecting the lives of millions around the world. Part of our mission is a commitment to spearheading education about the disease and we take our role very seriously in spreading the word about the impact of diabetes. I am particularly proud that our employees supported this day with such great enthusiasm.'
